PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide incense low in smoking level when burnt, with its scent not hindered by offensive odor including odor inherent therein, woodmeal odor and binder odor and residual ash keeping its shape before burning, and producible at lower cost. SOLUTION: The incense is obtained by incorporating 100 pts. wt. of a solid component with 10-20 pts. wt. of a flavonoid-based deodorizer and 2-10 pts. wt. of a fragrance and, as necessary,≤20 pts. wt. of a Chinese medicine-based fragrance,≤5 pts. wt. of an auxiliary burning agent, 5-15 pts. wt. of a reserving agent and≤10 pts. wt. of a colorant either singly or in combination; wherein the solid component comprises 20-50 wt.% of carbon powder, 5-50 wt.% of vegetable fiber powder, 15-45 wt.% of wood-based material and 5-40 wt.% of a titanium oxide with the carbon powder plus vegetable fiber powder accounting for 20-70 wt.% of the whole solid component.
