PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform recoding of images in various resolutions such a 300 dpi system, a 360 dpi system, and the like by one recorder. SOLUTION: This image recorder stores, in a storage area of a RAM, information as to whether or not inks are ejected separately with respect to outward and inward directions of a recording head corresponding to the position of the recording head in the main scanning direction in advance and reads data (0 or 1) stored in the RAM by taking a counted output from a recording head position detecting section indicating the current position of the recording head as the input address of the RAM. An image can be recorded at an arbitrary resolution by generating a recording position pulse only when the read data is 1. The position of inks to be ejected are separately set with respect to the inward and outward paths so that the image recorder is controlled to precisely record the image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
