PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vent device for an extruder which prevents an entrainment phenomenon by keeping a pressure in a vent box not less than atmospheric pressure. SOLUTION: In a venting device for an extruder wherein raw material is plasticized and kneaded with a screw 2 provided in a barrel 1 of the extruder and degrassing is carried out via the vent box 4 formed by opening in the barrel 1, an entrainment phenomenon is prevented by keeping the pressure in the vent box 4 not less than atmospheric pressure.
