PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that paper jamming is likely to occur due to increase of thickness when the vicinity of a joint of a continuous paper sheets passes between an outer peripheral face of a roller having a narrow clearance and an outer peripheral face of a folding barrel, cutting of the continuous paper sheet is likely to occur, damage occurs due to cutting, and machine stop time increases. SOLUTION: A folding device FD is constituted in such a way that the rotatable roller 1 which winds the continuous paper sheet W fed in from the upstream side around a side opposing relatively to the folding barrel 3 and guides to the outer peripheral face of the folding barrel 3 is provided in parallel with axial line of the folding barrel 3 in the vicinity of a position where appropriate number of needles 31 provided in the axial direction of the folding barrel 3 pierce into the continuous paper sheet W to be fed in on the upstream side a way from a cutting position of the continuous paper sheet W between the folding barrel 3 and a saw barrel 4. The outer peripheral part of the roller 1 is composed of a cushion member 11 capable of absorbing change in the direction of thickness of the continuous paper sheet W fed in from the upstream side.
