FIELD: shipbuilding; swiveling hinged columns for high-speed boats; transmission of torque from engine to boat. SUBSTANCE: proposed column includes upper and lower reduction gears of Z-shaped transmission, stern tube, propeller shaft and propeller shaft reverse gear. Constant velocity universal joint is used as torque transmission unit; Z-shaped transmission includes torsion-type vertical shaft. Propeller shaft reverse gear located in lower reduction gear is provided with splined claw clutch. Sea water supply system includes passage made in hollow stud which performs function of strainer of upper and lower reduction gears; passage of hollow stud is communicated with inner cavity of pump through side holes; said pump is mounted in stern tube of column. Column is also provided with release buffer which may be located in stern tube and may b provided with springs on guide bolts. EFFECT: simplified construction; enhanced efficiency of boat control. 2 cl, 7 dwg
