SUBSTANCE: variable-speed data burst generated by variable-speed data source is modulated in communication system traffic channel by means of traffic channel modulator when capacity of mentioned traffic channel is higher than or equal to mentioned transfer speed of mentioned data burst. Variable-speed data burst is modulated in traffic channel by means of traffic channel modulator and at least in one overflow channel by means of overflow channel modulator when traffic channel capacity is lower than mentioned data transfer speed. Variable-speed data burst is received over traffic channel when capacity of the latter is higher than or equal to mentioned data burst transfer speed; variable-speed data burst is received over traffic channel and at least over one overflow channel when traffic channel capacity is lower than data transfer speed.
