PURPOSE: A system for announcing the approach of a target object using a portable phone and a method for controlling the same are provided to download the location information of a desired object from a server that provides the location information contents of various objects, to capture the present location of the object through a GPS embedded in a user's portable phone, and to inform the user of what the portable phone approaches the object. CONSTITUTION: A user accesses a contents providing server through a portable phone having a GPS receiving module(S20) and transfers the type information of the portable phone and the present available memory state of a contents storage part to the contents providing server(S22). The contents providing server displays contents items according to the type of the portable phone(S24). In case that the user selects an object item, the contents providing server compares the capacity of the selected item with the capacity of the available memory of the contents storage part(S26). If the capacity of the selected item is smaller than the capacity of the available memory of the contents storage part, the contents providing server downloads the location information and process routine of the selected item to the user's portable phone(S30). |
