FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame and casing mounted on vertical shaft and provided with working knives attached thereto. Vertical shaft is mounted by means of bearing sleeve on rocking lever attached to frame. Working knives are closed from the top by protective housing arranged on bearing sleeve. Protective housing is made in the form of involute gear. Gear tooth module does not exceed minimal radius of stem base of cultured plants in spacings under cultivation procedure. Apparatus allows weed plants to be mowed from zone adjoining immediately to plant stems or trunks of garden crops. EFFECT: simplified construction and increased efficiency by mowing weed plants growing immediately to plant stems or trunks without damaging of cultured plants. 2 dwg
