960,395. Statistical apparatus; electric selective signalling. GENERAL TIME CORPORATION. Sept. 21, 1960 [Sept. 21, 1959], No. 5101/64. Divided out of 960, 391. Headings G4H and G4M. The description is substantially identical to that of Specification 960, 391 but the claim is for a transmitter having a plurality of data input switches manually adjustable to set up decimal digits, readout means for successively energizing the switches and there are means for rendering the switches non-adjustable during the operation of the read-out means. The switches are each rotatable by an external knob to select one of ten contacts, the corresponding digit being visible in a window over the knob. Each knob is connected to the corresponding selector switch via a clutch. When transmission begins a solenoid is energized to declutch the knobs from the switches so that they may turn idly. After transmission a motor associated with each switch returns it to the home position, this operation being deferrable to make a second transmission if necessary. Specifications 801,647, 960,392, 960,393 and 960,394 also are referred to. |
