PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain cubic boron nitride with high mechanical strength in a manufacturing method of cubic boron nitride by ultrahigh pressure method for rising the conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: In the method, catalytic materials are one or more kinds selected from LiMBN2 (M is shown as Ca, Sr, Ba, Ra, Be, and Mg), alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, their nitrides, and their boronitrides. The oxygen contents of LiMBN2 , alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, their nitrides and boronitrides are 1% or less. |
