The lay out is formed by a plates (8) connected at the corners of the polygon so as to a form a polygonal shaped plate ring. The connecting device at each corner of the coping comprises a connection plate (12) located under the corner. The connection device for two adjacent coping plates comprises a T-shaped part (18) with its vertical branch (19) located between the two opposite faces (20) of the ends of two plates whilst the horizontal branches (21) are supported on the upper faces of the ends. Clamping means (26) clamp the two branches against the faces on which they are supported.
