PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustment method facilitating adjustment work of a contact follow of an electromagnetic relay for high withstand voltage using a yoke of U-shaped cross section. SOLUTION: An erect piece part 42 of the U-shaped yoke 4 is provided with inclination enlarged in width toward the tip, and an erect piece part 41 is provided with reverse inclination. The erect piece part 41 on the contact side is pushed in using a tool 8 with step difference so that the vicinity of the upper end of the erect piece part 42 temporarily fixed to a spool is made the rotational center. When pushing in, the lower face of the yoke is first supported by the stepped part of the tool 8, and a coil 3 is excited to bring an armature 2 close to the yoke 4 to abut on the tip of the tool 8. The tip part length of the tool 8 is set beforehand to secure prescribed contact follow. While maintaining this state, the tool 8 is pushed in, and adjustment is ended upon detecting the moment of separation of a movable contact 71 from a make side fixed contact 51.
