PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking nut capable of reducing the manufacturing costs by simplifying the manufacturing processes and establishing a still stronger effect of stopping the loosening. SOLUTION: The locking nut is structured so that a lead-in part 22 with the minor diameter A formed constantly is provided at one end in the axial direction of a threaded hole 12 while a deforming part 24 having a minor diameter B-D set smaller than the minor diameter of the lead-in part 22 is provided at the other end contrary to the lead-in part 22, wherein the minor diameters B-D of the deformation part 24 are formed as B>C>D with the diameter reducing gradually in the direction of going apart from the lead-in part 22.
