PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database system that forms a database part, a logical file driver, a physical file driver, and subsystems of them as DLLs and upgrades a part of them without an overall shutdown. SOLUTION: The database system 10000 forms the database part 11000, the logical file driver 12000, the physical file driver 13000, and the subsystems constituting them as DLLs, installs the DLLs in different storage directories 2000 on a version basis, and when using a DLL, if a DLL newer than the used DLL is present in another storage directory 2000, releases the DLL to be used and reads in and uses the new DLL in another storage directory 2000. The database system 10000 can thus upgrade the driver or the like forming a part without an overall shutdown. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
