PURPOSE: A color layer material, a color filter substrate, an electro-optic apparatus, an electronic appliance, a method for manufacturing the color filter substrate and a method for manufacturing the electro-optic apparatus are provided to be suitable for the color electro-optic apparatus which uses a white LED(Light Emitting Diode) as a backlight. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal apparatus(1) has a liquid crystal panel and a backlight(10). The liquid crystal panel has a liquid crystal(110) held between a counter substrate(2a) and a color filter substrate(2b). The backlight uses a white LED as a light source to irradiate the liquid crystal panel with light. The color filter substrate has a red color layer(160R), a blue color layer(160B) and a green color layer(160G). The red color layer has 2% average transmittance in the wavelength region from 500 to 575 nm.
