NEGATIVE ELECTRODE MEMBER FOR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY, AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having an excellent battery characteristic, and advantageous in terms of manufacturability and price.

SOLUTION: This negative electrode member for this lithium secondary battery is formed of foil of a copper alloy or a nickel alloy containing 10-50 wt.% (preferably 30-40 wt.%) of Si. The negative electrode member formed of the foil is provided with both functions of a negative electrode material and a current collecting material of the lithium secondary battery. The foil member can be manufactured by feeding the melt of the copper alloy or the nickel alloy containing 10-50 wt.% of Si onto a turning cooling roller to rapidly solidify it.
