<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external storage device and a computer system, using the same, that can realize an environment that a user likes by running a program stored in the external storage device. <P>SOLUTION: The computer system using the external storage device is characterized in that: a main memory of a client 2 is frozen (locked) and stored before a USB key 1 is connected to the client 2 and an application program in the USB key 1 is run; a memory area in the USB key 1 is allocated to the main memory; after the program ends and the USB key 1 is detached from the client 2, the memory area in the USB key 1 is released from the main memory; and the stored main memory of the client 2 is unlocked and return to the normal state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
