PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain high image quality without causing irregularities in an image by flocculated toner while realizing the improvement of thin line reproducibility and the restraint of a void phenomenon at a trailing edge. SOLUTION: In the developing device, a magnetic brush is formed by napping developer on a developing sleeve by a main magnetic pole being an N pole arranged to be opposed to a developing area and auxiliary magnetic poles being two S poles, and an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor drum is rubbed to be developed by the magnetic brush formed by the main magnetic pole. In the developing device, the magnetic brush is short in length and the density of a brush part coming into contact with a latent image carrier is made high, so that the thin line reproducibility is improved and the void phenomenon at the trailing edge is restrained. Furthermore, since space between a developer regulating member and a developer carrier being the developing sleeve is narrow such as 0.2[mm] and 0.4[mm], the flocculation of the toner in the developer is loosened when passing through the space, and the developer free from the flocculation of the toner is supplied to the developing area. Thus, a black spot or the like caused by the flocculated toner does not appear on the image, whereby the high-quality image is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
