PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit of an air conditioner which can be fitted to a ceiling at low cost without hindering appearance. SOLUTION: Leg bodies 7 to be fitted to a floor or a ceiling are removably provided in a bottom part of a base 3 forming a housing body 1, and a plurality of leg body fitting holes 6a required to fit the leg bodies 7 are provided in the top plate 6 to be covered on an outer barrel 5, When providing the housing body 1 in the suspending condition, the leg bodies 7 removed from the base 3 are reversely turned over and fitted onto the top plate 6, and bolts dedicated to fit the top plate are inserted into the installation bolt holes 7c, which are provided in both ends of the leg bodies, for fixation. The top plate 6 is provided with restriction parts 6b to improve the strength thereof, and a water-proof cap 10 is fitted on the leg body fitting holes 6a on the top plate when transferring the outdoor unit and setting it on the floor.
