PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the rotation balance of a rotation unit for an X-ray CT apparatus. SOLUTION: Counter loads 2 and 3 are attached respectively at two places which are symmetrical with respect to a first line segment L1 combining the centroid of a rotation unbalancing load U and a rotation center O and which are on a side opposite to the rotation unbalancing load U with respect to the rotation center O. By rotating the rotation unit while varying the attaching positions of the counter loads 2 and 3 so as to vary an angleαwhich second line segments L2 and L3 combining the centroid of the counter loads 2 and 3 and the rotation center O form with the extension line of the first line segment L1, vibration data are collected to obtain an angleαmin which minimizes the peak of periodical vibration. The counter loads 2 and 3 are fixed to the angleαmin. Thus, a burden for managing the counter loads can be small. Moreover, adjusting operation is easy and influence given to balance in the direction of a z-axis can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
