CRYSTAL OF AMINO ACID ESTER SALT AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Novel crystals of a sulfonic acid salt of an alanine alkyl ester which are reduced in hygroscopicity and corrosiveness and can be industrially produced at low cost. The crystals are ones of a sulfonic acid salt of an alanine alkyl ester, the salt being represented by the formula (1): (1) wherein R<1> represents methyl or ethyl; and when R<1> represents methyl, then R<2> represents ethylphenyl or dimethylphenyl and when R<1> represents ethyl, then R<2> represents methyl, phenyl, chlorophenyl, ethylphenyl, or dimethylphenyl.
