摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device having a catalyst layer for preventing the generation of a liquefied sulfate even when the catalyst layer is put under a high-temperature condition from the beginning. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device has the catalyst layer 16 which is arranged in the middle of an exhaust pipe where exhaust gas flows and in which an adsorbing material, a rare earth metal and alumina coexist. An aggregation 17 of a noble metal and alumina is incorporated in the layer 16. Since the noble metal does not coexist alone in the layer 16 but coexists as the aggregation 17, the action of the noble metal as a strong oxidizer can be restrained by the alumina in the aggregation 17 and the reaction of SO<SB>2</SB>to liquefied sulfate by the noble metal can be prevented even when the layer 16 is put under the high-temperature condition from the beginning. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
