<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamic queuing buffer control system for flexibly and dynamically realizing a QoS (qualityof service) by appropriately switching buffer control in accordance with a QoS requested for every kind of traffic while monitoring cells stored in a queuing buffer, thereby avoiding cell abolishment. <P>SOLUTION: An ATM exchange is provided with a buffer for every traffic kind each of a real time system and a non-real time system and realizes a QoS. In the ATM exchange, when congestion of a queuing buffer provided for each traffic category is detected, a QoS requested in each traffic category is realized in accordance with the QoS requested in each traffic category by preferentially reading the buffer from which the congestion is detected in the case of a real time system traffic buffer (a) and by making the capacity of the buffer temporarily large from which the congestion is detected in the case of a non-real time system traffic buffer (b). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
