PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a triorganosilyl unsaturated carboxylate in high yield and purity at low cost. SOLUTION: The triorganosilyl unsaturated carboxylate represented by formula(3): R<SP>1</SP>(R<SP>2</SP>)C=C(R<SP>3</SP>)-COO-SiR<SP>4</SP>(R<SP>5</SP>)(R<SP>6</SP>)( R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>are the same as mentioned below ) is obtained by reaction between an unsaturated carboxylic acid of formula(1):R<SP>1</SP>(R<SP>2</SP>)C=C(R<SP>3</SP>)-COOH[ R<SP>1</SP>is H, an alkyl or the group (CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>COOR<SP>7</SP>; R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each H, methyl or the group COOR<SP>8</SP>, at least one of them being H, wherein when R<SP>1</SP>is an alkyl or the group (CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>COOR<SP>7</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each H ], a triorganochlorosilane of formula(2): ClSiR<SP>4</SP>(R<SP>5</SP>)(R<SP>6</SP>)( R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>are each an alkyl or cycloalkyl ) and ammonia as a basic dehydrochlorination agent in an ether-based solvent or its mixed solvent with a hydrocarbon-based solvent.
