METHOD FOR PRODUCING CHOLESTEROL OXIDASE FROM STREPTOMYCES SP.

PURPOSE: A method for producing cholesterol oxidase from Streptomyces sp. is provided, thereby finding out an optimal medium for producing cholesterol oxidase to mass-produce cholesterol oxidase. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing cholesterol oxidase from Streptomyces sp. comprises the steps of: inoculating Streptomyces polychromogenes IFO 13072 into a medium containing 1% of dextrin and 0.5% of casamino acid; culturing the microorganism at 28 deg. C and 150 rpm for 2 to 5 days; and filtering the cultured medium with filter paper and subjecting the filtrate to centrifugation and cholesterol affinity column chromatography, wherein the optimal medium contains 1% of dextrin, 0.5% of casamino acid, 0.1% of KH2PO4, 0.5% of NaNO3 and 0.05% of MgSO4 7H2O and has pH 7.3.
