PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method for a compound which brings a change to a morphogenesis inductive protein (morphogen) level produced by a tissue of an organ, when it is dosed with the compound. SOLUTION: This is a method for screening a candidate compound, capable of controlling a locally or systemically effective amount or level of the morphogen in a living matter. This method is also capable of increasing or decreasing production of the morphogen in vivo, thereby is capable of modifying pathological condition, and is capable of using for identifying a hopeful compound for a medicine for human beings.
