ELECTRONIC SEAL, IC CARD, AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM FOR PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION, AND MOBILE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the security of authentication of personal identification without imposing a load on a user.

SOLUTION: Combining an IC card 12 for performing encryption / decryption on the basis of a public key and an electronic seal 16 for performing encryption / decryption on the basis of a private key authenticates personal identification by utilizing the public key system encryption technology. First, the IC card 12 generates a random number, the random number and a return request ID are encrypted on the basis of the public key and the result is transmitted to the electronic seal 16. The electronic seal 16 decrypts the received signal on the basis of the private key and encrypts the decrypted random number on the basis of the private key when the received signal includes the return request ID and transmits the result to the IC card 12. The IC card 12 decrypts the received random number on the basis of the public key and confirms personal identification when the decrypted random number matches with the original random number.
