PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a small-size apparatus for measuring the intensity of a distant electromagnetic field of an object to be measured. SOLUTION: A magnetic sensor 2 for scanning scans an equivalent surface set in a peripheral space of an object 1 to be measured. A fixed magnetic sensor 3 is fixed in a vicinity of the object 1. The intensity, direction, and phase of a magnetic field are calculated based on detection signals from the sensors. The intensity of the electromagnetic field is then calculated based on the calculated intensity, direction, and phase of the magnetic field. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
