PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric planar patch antenna with a simple structure and of which the surface mounting is possible. SOLUTION: In the patch antenna provided with a radiation electrode 12 on the surface of a dielectric substrate 11 and with a grounding electrode 13 on approximately the whole of the rear surface, a conductor pattern 14 to be an input/output port surrounded by grounding electrodes, insulated from the grounding electrodes and opposed to the radiation electrode is formed on the rear surface of the dielectric substrate. The grounding electrode 13 is mounted on a printed wiring board 16 and connected with a grounding (earth) pattern on the surface of the printed wiring board 16. The conductor pattern 14 to be an input port is a conductor filled in a through hole 17, connected with a signal line 18 on the rear surface of the printed wiring board 16 and power is fed to it.
