A recording medium is composed of a base material and an ink-receiving layer arranged on a surface of the base material. The ink-receiving layer comprises an inorganic pigment, a boron compound, and a compound represented by the following formula: wherein R<1 >to R<4 >may be the same or different and each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or a group represented by NR<5>R<6>, R<5 >and R<6 >each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, a phenyl group or a group represented by NR<7>CSNR<8>R<9>, R<7 >to R<9 >may be the same or different and each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a phenyl group, and one of R<1 >and R<2 >and one of R<3 >and R<4 >may be fused together to form a ring.
