<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate problems that rice with good taste and rice without the good taste are present in rice of the same cultivar and same place of production and selection of only rice with the good taste is difficult though whether the rice is tasty or not is ranked by the cultivar and place of production at present. <P>SOLUTION: The rice with the good taste is obtained by selecting large grains from the rice of the place of production in a prescribed area and the same cultivar. Thereby, the rice with the good taste can be obtained from large granular rice as compared with the taste of smaller granular rice even when the rice is of the same cultivar produced in the same place of production.
