PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which performs with sufficient certainty, operation of accepting actuation performed by fellow passengers other than a driver of a vehicle, though actuation by the driver is not accepted, when the vehicle is in a running condition without practically complicating its configuration. SOLUTION: When an operation control unit 20 performs operation control for a present position detecting element 13, a map data storage memory portion 16, an image/voice monitor portion 23 etc., and detects supply of a control signal sent out by the operation of a remote operation input portion 30 by a fellow passenger other than the driver of the vehicle, the navigation system receives command data obtained on the basis of the control signal, and performs control operation according to the data. While, when the control unit 20 detects supply of a control signal sent out by the operation of an input portion 27 or the remote portion 30 by the driver of the vehicle while the vehicle is in a running condition, the control unit 20 refuses to accept command data to be obtained on the basis of the control signal.
