PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic conveying apparatus with which the cost of the whole apparatus is reduced, the whole apparatus is miniaturized and lightened and which is smoothly and surely entered into (and returned from) branched rails and has high stability and reliability of actions. SOLUTION: Guide rail parts 4 are equipped with branched parts 3j and 3j for joining the branched rails 3 and 3 to main rails 2, dividers 6 and 6 which are displaced to a nonlinked position Xn for connecting the upstream 2u sides and the downstream 2d sides of the main rails 2 to the branched parts 3j and 3j or to a linked position Xc for connecting the downstream 2d sides of the main rails 2 to the sides of the branched rails 3 and 3 and divider change mechanism parts 7 and 7 which change the dividers 6 and 6 at a fixed position Pf at a downstream 2d side lower than the branched parts 3j and 3J when milking units 5a and 5a are moved from the upstream 2u sides to the downstream 2d sides of the main rails 2 and change the dividers 6 ad 6 to the nonlinked position Xn at the fixed position Pr at the downstream 2d side lower than the branched parts 3j and 3j when the milking units 5a and 5a are moved from the downstream 2d sides to the upstream 2u sides of the main rails 2.
