PURPOSE: To realize the automatic and mechanical cleaning of a screen mask in the printing with a pasty printing agent of a low viscosity. CONSTITUTION: A cleaning unit 1 comprises a self-adhering tape 2, a self-adhering tape take-up body 3, a self-adhering tape delivery body 7 and a self-adhering tape pressing stand 8 arranged between the self-adhering tape take-up body 3 and the self-adhering tape delivery body 7. The self-adhering tape 2 is taken up with its self-adhering surface facing upwards. In addition, at the taking up of the self-adhering tape 2, the taking up is performed by the predetermined speed in synchronous with the running speed of the cleaning unit to a direction opposite to the running direction of the cleaning unit 1. Further, the cleaning unit 1 ascends at its initial end position, runs horizontally to its terminal end position, descends at its terminal end position and finally goes back to its initial end position.
