An optical fibre conveyance apparatus used for inserting or removing a tool (12, figure 1) in or out of a wellbore comprises an optical fibre line (14, figure 1) that extends through a bore of a slickline (32, figure 1) to enable communication link between the tool (12, figure 1) and a well surface equipment (20, 44, figure 1). In one embodiment, the tool (12, figure 1) is a casing collar locator 104 for detecting collars 106 in a casing 108, and an interface component assembly 110 is provided between the casing collar locator 104 and an optical fibre line 112. The interface component assembly 110 comprises a mirror 116 and an obstacle 114 for providing data to the surface when the collars 106 are in close proximity. The detection of the collars 106 are communicated by modulating light reflected back to the surface through the optical fibre line 112. |
