Process for preparing lithium aluminum hydride solutions

In the preparation of lithium aluminum hydride (LiAlH4) solution by reacting Li hydride with an Al halide in diethyl ether (I) and separating the resultant Li halide, the reaction mixture is then treated with a solvent (II) for which the complexing energy with LiAlH4 is greater than that of (I) with LiAlH4 and (I) is removed by distillation.
