PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the adhesion between a sprayed coating and a base material by forming a sprayed coating on the surface of a base material and applying blasting treatment to its surface. SOLUTION: A thermal spraying apparatus 1 consists of a thermal spray gun 10 and blast guns 21, 22, which the provided so as to be capable of laterally reciprocating. For example, in the case where thermal spraying treatment is allowed to proceed in the right direction, the blast gun 21 at the head is stopped, and only the blast gun 22 at the rear of the thermal spray gun 10 for spraying thermal spraying grains 109 is operated to spray blast grains 29, In the case where the treatment is performed in the inverse direction, the blast gun 21 alone is operated. By using this thermal spraying apparatus 1, the thermal spraying grains 109 are thermally sprayed on the surface of a base material 9 to form a sprayed coating 8 and blasting treatment is applied to this surface by means of the blast grains 29. At this blasting treatment, the temp. of the sprayed coating is regulated to 25-99% of the final solidification temp. (centigrade) of the thermal spraying grains. By this method, the properties of the sprayed coating itself can be improved. |
