PURPOSE:To provide a map display device which makes the density of map information on its display screen nearly constant and makes an easy-to-see display for user. CONSTITUTION:A current position peripheral road detection part 14 reads road information on the periphery of the current position of its vehicle and counts the number of intersections present within a display range and then a density calculation part 16 calculates the density of the map information which is displayed. When this density exceeds specific density, a density decision part judges that the display is hard to see and counts the number of intersections again by using a map which is changed in display density. This operation is repeated to display a map at a display part 22 with proper density. |
