Hydrochloric acid gas (HCl gas) separated from end gases evolved during chemical syntheses involving phosgene is purified in a single or in several stages using absorbing elutriating liquids that are capable of removing organic compounds. The organic compound-free gas is used in the preparation of pure HCl acid solutions, or by dewatering the gas with phosgene, for oxychlorination. |
