Electronic water mixer (1) has an operating unit (3) for input of an operating value and an electronic controller that controls a stepper motor that acts on a mechanical actuator (7) for varying the mixer water volumes. The controller (6) and actuator (7) are made as a single compact unit that is suitable for flush or wall mounting - beneath the plaster. An Independent claim is made for a method for controlling mixer water temperature using the above mixer in which the mixer water volumes are determined in conjunction with a temperature sensor (13) that reads the actual water temperature which can then be compared with the pre-set water temperature.
