PURPOSE: An electroluminescence device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent a disconnection between the second electrode line and the second electrode terminal. CONSTITUTION: An organic electroluminescence device comprises a substrate(41); a first electrode having a plurality of first electrode lines(52) formed into a predetermined pattern on the substrate, and first electrode terminals(54) connected to each of the first electrode lines and formed at the edge of a side of the substrate; a second electrode having a plurality of second electrode lines patterned on the first electrode lines so as to emit light at the portion where the first and second electrode lines cross with each other and form a predetermined light emitting area(50), and second electrode terminals(64) connected to each of the second electrode lines and formed at the edge of the other side of the substrate; a light emitting layer(58) formed between the first and second electrode lines of the light emitting area; and an external insulation film(66) interposed between the light emitting area and the second electrode terminal and arranged to contact the end of the second electrode terminal directed to the light emitting area so as to prevent a formation of stepped portion between the second electrode terminal and the substrate.
