PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for converting electronic program guide data are provided to efficiently analyze EPG data between apparatuses existing on a network. CONSTITUTION: An EPG(Electronic Program Guide) data extracting unit(110) extracts EPG data from a data stream. An EPG data analyzing unit(120) analyzes the extracted EPG data. An Internet XML(eXtensible Markup Language) converter(130) converts the analyzed EPG data into Internet XML type data. An EPG data display unit(140) displays program data to users in response to the Internet XML type EPG data. An Internet XML data transmitter(190) transmits the Internet XML type EPG data to other equipments through a network(10).
