A double entry computerised accounting system, including: an accounts database for storing accounts data; an input module for accepting inputted accounts data; wherein the input module includes an accounts simulator, the simulator presenting a graphical display that simulates the data, displaying changes that the inputted data will have on the stored accounts data before the inputted data is transferred to the accounts database.
