PURPOSE: A digital set-top box is provided to transmit video contents of high quality to users in real time by using a VDSL based on a television. CONSTITUTION: An audio/video switching unit(18) outputs audio/video signals of inputted MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group) contents through audio/video output ports. A sub-controller(24) outputs the inputted MPEG contents through a VDSL(Very high-data rate Digital Subscriber Line) or a LAN(Local Area Network) line. An MPEG decoder(28) decodes the data output from the sub-controller for transmitting the decoded data to the audio/video switching unit. A main controller(26) provides a control command necessary for the output operation of the sub-controller to the sub-controller, and controls the corresponding operation based on a remote signal from a remote control. Audio/video output units(34,38) output audio and video of a plurality of channels output from the audio/video switching unit according to selection conditions of users. |
