<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a granular metal capable of enhancing purity of the granular metal formed by heating and reduction, obtaining the granular metal having an increased size and uniformed grain size, and positively boosting the yield of the finally obtained granular metal, when a highly purified granular metal is manufactured by heating and reducing a raw material containing metal oxide such as iron oxide and a carbonaceous reducing agent such as coke, and additionally heating the raw material to melt the metal, as well as coagulating and separating a molten by-product slag. <P>SOLUTION: In manufacturing the granular metal by heating the raw material including a material containing metal oxide and the carbonaceous reducing agent, reducing the metal oxide from the raw material, further heating and melting the formed metal, and coagulating the metal while separating the by-product slag component, separation of the molten metal from the by-product slag is promoted by blending a coagulation accelerator for the by-product such as fluorite into the raw material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
