PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the temperature rising performance of a manifold catalyst by shortening the total length of exhaust pipes while preventing the interference of exhaust gases and prevent catalytic carriers from being wind-eroded by foreign matters in the exhaust gases. SOLUTION: The branches B1 and B4 of outside cylinders #1 and #4 and branches B2 and B3 of inside cylinders #2 and #3 having a discontinuous firing order are merged to each other, respectively, and merged branches W1 and W2 thus obtained are merged to each other. Then the merge is led to a manifold catalyst through an expanded pipe part DF under the presence of a straight pipe part SP. The inclination angleαof the center axis L of the straight pipe part SP relative to the center axis C of the manifold catalyst is 30°or less.
