PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing dross in a snout, which avoids the dross of a molten metal in the snout from adhering to a steel sheet, further prevents the dross from depositing in the snout and ensures an appearance and quality of a plated film, when hot-dip metal plating the surface of a steel sheet, and to provide a removal method. SOLUTION: In a device for removing the dross floating on the surface of a molten metal bath in the snout in hot-dip metal plating, this device has two feeding nozzles for feeding a molten metal to the front and back surface of a steel sheet in the vicinity of the surface of the molten metal bath at one side of the steel sheet, and a suction port for absorbing the molten metal in the vicinity of the surface of the molten metal bath on the other side of the steel sheet. The suction port for sucking the molten metal preferably has a box-like shape and a straightening vane in the middle of the suction port. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
