PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hydrogen with microorganisms, by which the hydrogen can massively / industrially be produced in improved production efficiency. SOLUTION: This method for producing the hydrogen with the microorganisms is characterized by comprising a process for obtaining a photosynthetic product with a photosynthesis ability-having fine alga under bright aerobic conditions to obtain the photosynthetic product, a process for using the photosynthetic product with the photosynthesis ability-having fine alga under dark anaerobic conditions to obtain the hydrogen-producing assimilation source, and a process for using the assimilation source with a photosynthetic ability-having bacterium under bright anaerobic conditions to produce the hydrogen, wherein the photosynthesis ability-having fine alga is used in a state preliminarily cultured in a high cell concentration or/or the photosynthetic ability-having bacterium is used in a state preliminarily cultured in a high cell concentration.
