Anthelmintic compositions containing diphenyl urea and thiourea derivatives

Anthelmintic compositions and feedstuffs comprise substituted diphenyl ureas and thioureas of the general formula wherein R1, R2 and R3 independently of each other represent hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl which may be bound by oxygen or sulphur, halogenoalkyl, halogen nitro, cyano, thiocyano, amino, alkylamino, acylamino, carboxyl, carbamyl, carbalkoxy, sulphamyl, N-alkylsulphamyl, N, N-dialkylsulphamyl, or alkylsulphonyl, or a water-soluble salt form of a salt-forming group mentioned, but at most only one of R1, R2, and R3 is CF3, R4 is hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl which may be bound by oxygen or sulphur, halogen, nitro, cyano, thiocyano, amino, alkylamino, acylamino, carboxyl, carbamyl, carbalkoxy, sulphamyl, N-alkylsulphamyl, and N, N-dialkylsulphamyl or alkylsulphonyl, or a water-soluble salt form of a salt-forming group mentioned, and X is oxygen or sulphur. The compositions may be in the form of solutions, emulsions, suspensions, drenches, powders, tablets, capsules or boluses, together with conventional excipients. The feedstuffs may consist of grain, protein concentrates, fish meal, cotton-seed, soya bean, or linseed meals, and contain conventional feed additives e,g. minerals, vitamins, antibiotics, thermotherapeutics, bacteriostatics, fungi-statics, cocci diostatics, hormone preparations, anabolic agents, growth promoting agents. Liquid feedstuffs e.g. water, milk, whey, skimmed and butter milk may also be used.
