<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a firing method for obtaining a ceramic honeycomb structure, by which the occurrence of cracks in the opening end face of the ceramic honeycomb structure, which is a contact face between a firing stand and the ceramic honeycomb structure, can be inhibited even if the ceramic honeycomb structure is a large-sized article having an outer diameter of the opening end face of ≥200mm and a length of ≥200mm when the ceramic honeycomb structure is fired. <P>SOLUTION: In the firing method for obtaining the ceramic honeycomb structure, a green body of the ceramic honeycomb structure is fired in a state in which the opening end face of the green body is placed on a refractory inorganic powder when the ceramic honeycomb structure is fired. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
